Come back to this place a year later. I don't manage to walk the whole street for we were given limited time and it was raining. So we come back here.
This time we try the fish ball and chicken recommended by our guide. Yes, I signed up for a One Day Tour because Jiu Fen is located quite far from the city and we want to go Shi Fen. So to save our energy and time, we signed up.
The fish ball was big and there's some minced meat in it. However, it lose its lime light to the chicken. Which was cook with wine and served cold. It was a lean chicken and the skin was chewy. Must try when you have chance to visit. The shop we tried was called 張記.
We also tried the peanut ice cream. Rice wrapped ice cream and grounded peanut. They are selling this through out the city and the stalls are easily noticeable because they will place a big rectangular piece of peanut block.
Then we walked further in and came to this stairs with a lot of red lanterns which the tour guide told us was a movie shooting location.. Never watch that movie though but the place is nice.
Another signature of this place is taro ball. This is the origin of Taroballs. If you like Snowflake/Meet Fresh dessert, you have to come here. However, the way they serve the taro balls is different from what you eat in Snowflake. The iced version is more like liquid based dessert unlike the Snowflake which is full of shaved ice.
While waiting for everyone, we get ourselves a cup of ice drip coffee for our coffee fix :)
